Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Titan's Curse

"Five shall go west to the goddess in chains,
One shall be lost in the land of rain,
The bane of Olympus shows the trail,
Campers and Hunters prevail,
The Titan's curse must one withstand,
And one shall perish by a parent's hand."

Another year has come and gone as we find ourselves side by side with these heroes in the middle of a journey. In The Titan's Curse, Percy, Annabeth, Grover and a new friend must find not one but two new very powerful half-bloods while making sure that the monster hasn't figured them out yet. Everything swirls into utter chaos as Percy gets an unlucky run in with the manticore himself, gaining a few new allies while loosing the brains of the operation - Annabeth. Their enemy Kronos continues to slowly awaken as Percy has to travel against time itself to find Annabeth before it's too late.

This book may seem like nothing important at first but actually develops background information about things we haven't considered before. I may have accidentally skipped this book when I first re read the series and found myself a little confused when they started mentioning characters I didn't exactly remember.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Sea of Monsters

"You shall sail the iron ship with warriors
of bone,
You shall find what you seek and make it
your own,
But despair for your life entombed with stone,
And fail with friends, to fly home
alone!"
Hello, my fellow readers - I am back with some new upcoming posts soon! Now, onto the book review for The Sea of Monsters! Percy's back with his demigod friends from Camp Half Blood. Grover has found himself in a bit of trouble.... And it's up to him, Annabeth and a new friend to go save him from being married. Percy has finally found a new school to be at... until the new kids turn into huge cannonball throwing cannibals. Travel with them as they try and save their friend in the Sea of Monsters or as we know it..... the Bermuda Triangle! New monsters, frenemies, creatures, old allies appear and maybe even a little romancing?

With witty one liners, sarcasm and the unique Greek language, this book captured my heart the moment I opened up its pages! This series has gotten my goat no matter how many times I have read it and still has humor for all ages. Death defying, edge of your seat adventure will find you right along side these four on a whole new quest!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief

"You shall go west and face
the god that has turned,
You shall find what was stolen,
and see it safely returned,
You shall be betrayed by one
who calls you a friend,
And you shall fail to save what
matters most, in the end."

The Lightning Thief is the start of one of the many favorite series that I have. There's no true stop on these kind of books. They're full of mystery, facts, myths, sass and funny little jokes. The story follows a teenage boy with ADHD by the name of Percy Jackson. Now, Percy has a bit of trouble. He's never able to stay in a single school for more than a year due to him always getting the blame of weird things happening. Percy has his kind mom named Sally who dreams of being a writer and a step dad deemed "Smelly Gabe" who live in a small apartment in upstate new York. But after a little vacation goes wrong with Percy and his mom, Percy's world is turned upside down and changes into something larger than just having humans in New York...

I have a hard time not laughing each time I get to start the series again. It's family friendly, fun humor and can be used for a bedtime story if needed. Nice and easily reading with new characters around every corner. Not to mention there's plenty of throwbacks to the traditional Greek myths and heroes.

Skirting the Grave

Skirting the Grave by Annette Blair was a bit different than what I expected. Romance, a design intern, some guy calling you and saying that said intern is dead, being able to see ghosts. Oh! Not to mention being able to go back in time when you put something on! Wait, what? In this particular series of Vintage Magic Mystery, we get Maddie Cutler who runs a boutique shop in New York. During this story, Maddie goes to the train station to pick up her intern - only to find that she's dead as a doornail and has been apparently murdered. Not to mention the love triangle hovering around every few chapters.

Plenty of humor and romance. The book was very intriguing and became my aid to help pass time and boredom. Not to mention that it had a couple of well detailed and planned outfits and designs. It had my attention the entire time and kept me wanting to read more the entire time!
